Acts 2:1-4. Religion is bad news.  With religion you get instructions but you don’t get power.  Have you ever tried to do what Jesus says we’re supposed to do in the Sermon on the Mount? It’s precepts are beautiful. It’s ideals are noble. But who in this world can live by it?  Jesus knew that his disciples would need more than precepts.  They also needed power, so He told them to stay in Jerusalem until they received the Holy Spirit. If it had not been for the events recorded in the second chapter of Acts (Pentecost) we wouldn’t be here today.
