PLEASE NOTE: KAYLEIGH HAS RETURNED FROM COLOMBIA. A BRIEF REPORT IS POSTED BELOW.
Kayleigh’s Columbian Mission Trip
Kayleigh Axtell has been accepted to go to Cartagena, Colombia as a volunteer with American Baptist Churches, International Ministries.
She will be volunteering at Iglesia Bautista Central February 24 – March 9. Her mission will be to support the local Pastor and his family as they minister to their local community. She will be staying with the Pastor’s family. Kayleigh took four years of Spanish in school and is praying it will come back to her memory “rapido.” Kayleigh has been involved in previous mission work in Ensenada, Mexico while she was a college student in Los Angeles. On that mission trip she was part of a group from her University. Please be in prayer for Kayleigh and the Iglesia Bautista Central. Your financial support would be greatly appreciated too. You can GIVE ONLINE or bring or send your donations to FBCH c/o Kayleigh’s Colombian Mission.
A Brief Report
During my trip to Colombia, the biggest lesson that I learned is that God always has a plan for His children. He can use us wherever we are to build up His kingdom whether we already have plans or not. When I got to Colombia I did not know how I would be serving but God quickly put me to work. Most of my time was spent visiting sick members of the church who are not able to come to fellowship because of illness or disease. The rest of my time was spent teaching English to preschoolers at a small church based education program called Pepe! Iglesia Bautista Manantial was welcoming, loving, and so excited to have me visit and serve alongside them as they reach out to their community.
