Malachi 3:8-10. The people in Malachi’s day were treating God badly. Their worship had turned from relational to ritual. They offered blemished sacrifices; the priests had become unfaithful; divorce was commonplace and easy; their words wearied God; businessmen were defrauding their workers, cheating their customers and taking advantage of widows, orphans and immigrants. But the most egregious treatment of God was that they were robbing God. Malachi was very specific about how they were robbing God…by withholding their tithes.
