Joshua 1:1-7. The Israelites are poised a second time to take the Promised Land. Joshua is now a seasoned warrior, so he knows this won’t be easy. He’s been in the land. He’s seen the walls. He’s seen their strength, but God tells him four different times, “Be strong and courageous”. God is preparing Joshua ahead of time for what will happen later. That is often what we experience in our own lives…God prepares us now for what will be required later. God sets up an impossible situation where the odds are stacked against Joshua to demonstrate His power and His strength, so in the end everyone will know who gets the credit. Everyone will know the battle belongs to the Lord.

We inherently feel the call to live for something bigger than ourselves, to become people who impact the world in a positive way. But many of us lack the faith to respond to that call. God is still using ordinary people to do extraordinary things for Him! In this sermon series drawing on the lives and faith experiences of ordinary people, Pastor Barry will encourage, inspire, and help us examine our lives and take practical, real-world steps to deepen our own faith and trust in God.
