Romans 10:17; James 1:19-25. Jesus ended the Sermon on the Mount, the most famous sermon ever preached, by telling a story. He says there were two guys that went out and they both built a house. But they built them on different foundations. One guy built his house on solid rock, the other guy built his house on sand. When a storm came, the house that was built on the shifting foundation of sand collapsed, but the house that was built on solid rock was able to withstand the storms. After telling this story Jesus says, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into is like that wise man who built his house on the rock.” How do you build your life on the solid foundation of the Bible? In the first installment of this series Pastor Barry shares insight into how we can effectively receive God’s word by hearing it.

NEW SERMON SERIES BEGINNING FEBRUARY 16TH

“…everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock” Matthew 7:24. As we celebrate the 90th anniversary of our Church we also look to the future. Our desire is to be effective, relevant and victorious. A victorious Church is the byproduct of its members living victorious lives. Building a strong healthy Church doesn’t just happen. Neither does spiritual maturity in the life of a Christian. Every well-built house must first have carefully designed blueprints, a strong foundation, and a competent builder. Even so, a strong Church can only be the product of the blueprint of God’s Word, the foundation of Jesus Christ, and the daily guiding hand of the Holy Spirit. In this sermon series, Building Upon the Firm Foundation of God’s Word, Pastor Barry will seek to reignite and strengthen your passion for God’s Word by sharing in very practical ways what it means to be “doers of the Word and not just “hearers” only.
