Mark 14:27-72. The pages of the Bible are strewn with the wreckage of men and women who have failed in their faith. There is none more familiar than Peter’s, recorded in Mark 14. The God who wrote the Bible is a God of grace who wants us to profit from the experience of failure in the lives of others. So, these failures are like flashing red lights that say, “Watch out, Caution, Danger!”  In this passage Peter makes four mistakes. We should avoid making these same mistakes. Peter’s failure was not fatal. He didn’t quit. He didn’t give up, and it was men, the likes of Peter, of whom the pagan world testified, “These are they who have turned the world upside down.”

We inherently feel the call to live for something bigger than ourselves, to become people who impact the world in a positive way. But many of us lack the faith to respond to that call. God is still using ordinary people to do extraordinary things for Him! In this sermon series drawing on the lives and faith experiences of ordinary people, Pastor Barry will encourage, inspire, and help us examine our lives and take practical, real-world steps to deepen our own faith and trust in God.
