Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 11:1-4. The more we understand about the promises of God, the richer, and more meaningful our prayers will become. The first three petitions in the Lord’s Prayer relate to God and His glory.  The last three relate to man and his need. This petition is the cry of the heart that despises the potential of sin to harm and ruin our life and the lives of those we love. It is a safeguard against presumption and a false sense of security.
