Proclamation Presented to Dr. Barry Lovett
Whereas, Dr. Barry Lovett is the Pastor of First Baptist Church of Honolulu; being first called into the ministry and licensed to preach at the age of fifteen, eventually being ordained to the ministry at the age of nineteen; and
Whereas, Dr. Barry Lovett has earned numerous awards, including being named “Grow Scholar” by the Center for the Renewal of the Churches at Northern Baptist Seminary, Chicago, Illinois; and the “Evangelism Award” by the American Baptist Churches of the Great Rivers Region; and
Whereas, Dr. Barry Lovett has shown love and compassion to those in need and has dedicated himself to the service of others for over 30 years;
Therefore I, Neil Abercrombie, Governor, and I, Shan S. Tsutsui, Lieutenant Governor of the Sate of Hawai’i, do hereby proclaim February 17 2013, as
“DR. BARRY LOVETT DAY”
in Hawai’i and ask the people of the Aloha State to join us in recognizing Dr. Lovett for his commitment to the spiritual and temporal well-being of our State.
