ANNUAL FAITH PROMISE PLEDGE

Dear Members and Friends of FBCH,

It’s been a weird year to say the least.  2020 will forever be marked with words like:  change, new normal, fluid.  Who knew that we would be walking around our grocery stores with masks and gloves on?  Our world has certainly changed. As this year is marked with the pandemic, there have been EXTREME changes to our church and how it delivers the Word of God.  What seemed bad at first, became a vehicle of change that forced us to go virtual with our services.  Now we reach so many more people beyond the walls of our sanctuary and we are happy to know that the good news has no boundaries! As we approach the end of 2020 and begin our planning and budget process for 2021, we are inviting you to participate by using the enclosed card to make a “Faith Promise”.  A “Faith Promise” is between you and God determining what you anticipate your tithe and offerings to be next year.  Don’t mind me, but I get excited about this stuff because tithing does 2 things: 1. It is a form of worship where you acknowledge God as the sovereign owner of everything you have including your finances.  Letting go (even of your money), takes humility and will allow Him to do greater things with you and your giving; and   2. Tithing gives you an opportunity to invest in the “eternal” which earthly numbers cannot measure its returns. In 2 Corinthians 9: 7-8 it says, “Each should give what he has decided in his heart to give.  And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” We believe that as we tithe our income, we are acknowledging Jesus as Lord overall, including our money.  In this act of faith, according to His Word, God will meet all your needs and more. Your Faith Promise will help us to better know the funds that will be available to continue our current ministries and possibly start or expand others. Please mail in your 2021 commitment card by October 14th.  Your Faith Promise will remain in strict confidence with me, your Treasurer.  The collective information from these cards will assist in finalizing the 2021 ministry plan. The initial draft will be emailed and/or mailed to you.  The final adoption of the budget is scheduled for Sunday, November 8th.  The money we receive through the Faith Promise is the largest part of our weekly offerings, so it is very important to get an accurate representation of the funds we can expect in 2021.  Prayerfully consider your response.  It is understood that the amount you determine to give is a “faith” promise, and there could be changes in your projected income for the year that could affect your ability to honor your pledge.  If that happens simply notify me.   If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your partnership in ministry. Sincerely in Christ, Crystal Lancaster, Treasurer
