“…for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.” I Corinthians 4:15. The idea of leading someone to Christ is attractive, but what follows is often mixed with pain.  We see this clearly in the apostle Paul’s experience.  He thought of himself as a parent to those he had brought to the Savior.  But in the next breath he expressed sorrow over the mistakes and rebellion of their immature state.  He knew some of the heartache of bringing children into the world.  Yet we never find him changing his mind about the value of the witness that results in the new birth.  He that wins souls is wise, he that wins anything else is otherwise.
