“If, therefore, the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matthew 6:23. If we focus on spiritual values, we will be full of light . But if we center our vision on earthly riches, the soul becomes filled with darkness.  Many people put money at the top of their list of priorities, because it promises to brighten their lives.  But they fail to realize its limitations.  It can ease financial strain but cannot heal a broken heart.  It can buy gifts but is unable to remove guilt.  It can bring passing pleasure but never gives permanent peace.  It is too dim to satisfy our spiritual longings.  So, let’s live our lives for Christ.  He is the true Light who illuminates the soul with the joys of eternal salvation.  Many a man lays down his life trying to lay up treasure.
