“Wherefore, lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees.” Hebrews 12:12. The apostle Peter had been hit hard by the enemy. It shattered his estimation of himself. He had promised earlier that he would follow Christ, even if it meant death. But just a little while later something unexpected happened. He cursed and denied his Lord. Was it all a bad dream? No, it was a real failure. That shattering blow could have caused him to throw in the towel. He could have gotten out of the business of helping people. He had made so many mistakes. He had been rebuked by Jesus so many times. But he didn’t give up. He didn’t quit.
