The Hawaii Association of American Baptists consists of three congregations; First Baptist Church of Honolulu, New Life Baptist Church and Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Our Annual Meeting is a time of worship, fellowship, challenge and inspiration. The theme this year is

Celebrating the Ministry of American Baptists Locally, Regionally, Nationally and Around the Globe

“…you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

The main event will be held Saturday, February 22nd at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Honolulu, 1313 Pensacola Street, Honolulu, Hawaii. PLEASE NOTE: Parking is available across the street at Queen Ka’ahumanu School and one block makai (toward the ocean) at First Hawaiian Bank.

The Key-note speaker will be Rev. Dr. Gina C. Jacobs-Strain  the General Secretary of American Baptist Churches USA which consists of nearly 5,000 congregations.

Special Guest

We are also delighted to welcome Rev. Nakita McCalister, President of the Board of General Ministries of the American Baptist Churches USA who will also address our gathering. Rev McCalister’s husband is the pastor of the Covenant Baptist Church in West Bloomfield, MI where Pastor Barry was the pastor before coming to Hawaii.

Special Music

A highlight of the worship service each year is the musical numbers presented by members of each congregation.

State of the Region 

Our Hawaii Association is part the nearly 200 churches that make up the American Baptist Churches of Los Angeles, the Southwest, and Hawaii (ABCOFLASH). The Executive Minister, Rev Andy Quient will be present to share a brief report of our cooperative work together. Dave Fields a member of our sister church,  Trinity Baptist Church is President of the ABCOFLASH Board of Directors will open our gathering with prayer.

Seminar

A Workshop/Seminar will follow. The presenters will be International Ministries Global Servant Lauren Bethel,

Jill Lowry is also with International Ministries. She is on staff and responsible for Doner and Church Relations.

Paul Gates, Executive Director of River of Life Honolulu, Hawaii. River of Life is a local ministry that feeds the hungry and provides other services those in need.

Dinner

During the Seminar a potluck dinner will be enjoyed. Attendees are asked to coordinate what they will bring to share for the potluck with their home church representative. The First Baptist representative is  Ron Young, 808-218-0633.
