“Then [John’s] disciples…went and told Jesus.” Matthew 14:12. Matthew said that after John the Baptist was beheaded his disciples “took away his body and buried it” (Matthew 14:12).  The record is strangely silent about any sorrow, but the last part of the verse says it all.  Matthew wrote that they “went and told Jesus.”  It seemed the only thing to do.  Are you heavy-hearted? Tell it to Jesus!  No one understands like Jesus.
