“In all labor there is profit.” Proverbs 14:23. A tramp came to the door asking for a handout. “Have you ever been offered work?” asked the woman with a penetrating gaze. “Only once, Ma’am,” he replied. “Apart from that, I have been shown nothing but kindness!” Though we smile at his answer, we know that making it easy for people to avoid work is NOT a kindness. Not only does work keep us from mischief, but the more we sweat and toil, the bigger “kick” we get out of our labors. Trouble is usually created by those who produce nothing else?  Remember, work is not only a way to make a living; it’s a way to make a life! Blessed is the man who keeps looking for work even after he has found a job!
