“While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption.” II Peter 2:19. True freedom always operates within the limits of God’s laws and revelation. Therefore, all who either advocate or practice evil under the banner of liberty are deceiving themselves.  They may be convinced that they are enjoying life, but in reality they experience feelings of frustration, emptiness, and dread. They are like the false teachers of Peter’s day who promoted unholy conduct in the name of Christian liberty. Actually, they themselves were bound hand and foot to depraved practices which were dragging them down. Freedom is not the right to do as you please, but the liberty to do as you ought. As a good citizen of your country and as a member of God’s family, be careful to maintain a correct concept of liberty. If you misuse your freedom you will lose your freedom.
