“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.” Psalm 118:9. There is no real security under the sun. All human systems take you just so far.  Then either they break down or you do.  The Bible makes it clear that no real salvation can be found in man or his society.  That’s why the psalmist attached himself to the Lord.  In grateful praise he drew his confidence from knowing the Maker of Heaven and Earth.  He’s the One who seeks justice for the oppressed.  He gives food to the hungry.  He relieves the fatherless and widows.  Let’s praise Him for His daily blessings that constantly support us. How much better they are than social insecurity!  Our lives are never more secure than when they are secure with God.
