“He taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.” Matthew 7:29. Jesus used language so clear and simple that ordinary people enjoyed listening to Him.  He made spiritual truth come alive through stories and illustrations from life that were easy to understand. Simplicity of speech in witnessing, teaching, and preaching cannot be overestimated.  Most people won’t respond to high-sounding talk.  They want and need straight answers to the problems that stem from their sense of guilt and their feelings of emptiness.  Some of them feel unloved.  Many wonder about forgiveness.  Multitudes are afraid of judgment after death.  Nothing will help them but the gospel.  And we should share it with genuine concern and in terms that are easily understood.
