“I say unto you that hear, love your enemies, do good to them who hate you.”  Luke 6:27. Our Lord’s command in this text calls for the highest form of discipleship and dedication.  Obeying it requires an unusual amount of grace.  Many Christians find it possible to tolerate an enemy, but to love him and perform acts of kindness for him seem to demand more spirituality than they possess.  If someone murdered a member of our family, how many of us would be willing to show kindness to the killer?  May God grant us that degree of grace.  It’s easy to hate an enemy but it costs to love him.
