“Like the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of fools.” Ecclesiastes 7:6. People living in immorality often insist they are very happy, and they try to prove it by laughing a lot.  They joke and say everything is just great. They may even try to convince themselves that they have found contentment. But they cannot face life and think realistically about eternity without having gloomy thoughts.  Their laughter and boasts of happiness are nothing more than a cover-up for the emptiness they feel inside.  Only those who shun evil and walk in close fellowship with God are truly blessed.
