“If anyone among you …does not bridle his tongue…this one’s religion is useless.” James 1:26. In the New Testament James said that even though a person may claim to be religious, if his religion doesn’t change his life it is worthless. Specifically, if he doesn’t control his tongue, his religion is useless. God doesn’t measure us by our ability to speak our minds but by our ability to mind what we speak. Be careful, a sharp tongue can dull a Christian’s witness.
