“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” I Corinthians 15:19. The great apostle Paul, who kept eternity’s values in view, looked to the end of life with confidence. For him there was no “end of the road,” and he increasingly anticipated the future as his years passed. He knew his goal would not elude him or fade away. He could say, “I have fought the fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.” Every believer who is living for eternity can say the same! Where one goes hereafter depends largely upon what he goes after here.
