“So, then, they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:8. You can never be saved by lifting yourself up by your own bootstraps.  You cannot earn Heaven by keeping divine standards, for “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The Bible tells us, “But to him that worked not, but believes on Him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness” (Acts 16:31).
