“…by doing this you have made the enemies of the Lord show utter contempt,…” II Samuel 12:14. When Christians fall into sin, they do more than bring trouble and chastisement upon themselves.  They grieve the heart of God and bring reproach upon His name.  David’s great sin not only resulted in the death of his infant child, but it also diminished the respect of his family and weakened the authority of his government.  Although he himself was spared and restored to fellowship, he gave his enemies occasion to blaspheme the Lord.  Even today, many of God’s children give the enemy an excuse to reject the Savior because they don’t practice what they preach.  Christian, guard your walk and words. The world is watching.
