“Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises,…” II Peter 1:4. Although people often make promises they cannot keep, this is not true of God.  He never indulges in empty words or vain pledges of assistance.  His promises can be counted on. Because of their scope and perfection, Peter calls them “exceedingly great and precious.”  Are you God’s child? Claim His promises; they’re the kind you can lean on!  You can never break God’s promises by leaning on them!
