Go into all the world and preach the gospel  (Mark 16:15)

Down through the centuries the challenge confronting God’s people has remained the same…YOU GO PREACH!  The great commission was not issued to a select few; it is unmistakably the responsibility of everyone who counts himself among those known as Christian. Every believer is a minister.

The Christian faith is not made up of spectators; it is made up of persons called to serve as Christ’s ambassadors in the world.  Jesus said, “For I have given you an example…that you also should do as I have done…” (John 13:15).  Jesus ministered to the needs of people and came to “seek and to save the lost”. Our challenge is to go and do likewise.

As children of God we must fulfill His command both directly and indirectly; directly when we as individuals and a church share our faith with others and proclaim the gospel to our “Jerusalem” (Acts 1:8) and indirectly when we support and encourage those who serve in the “uttermost parts of the earth”. The multitude of lost souls causes one to wonder whether one church in Honolulu can really make a difference.  To add to the frustration, many congregations are besieged with the realities of their own self-preservation. The truth is, yes, we CAN make a difference. The command from God’s Word concerning the matter is, yes, we MUST make a difference.

Christians have a God-given purpose which inspires a vision for a ministry that has as its primary focus the proclaiming of the gospel message with the intent of winning individuals to the Christian life and encouraging them in their Christian growth.
