“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16. Jesus’ departure from earth could easily have demoralized His followers, but it didn’t.  Although Jesus was no longer with them in body, the Christians soon had a power that could help them defeat any foe – the Holy Spirit.  We are in a battle every day.  We can either ignore His help and give in to sinful desires, or we can walk in the Spirit and enjoy love, joy, peace, and all the other fruit of the Spirit.  Jesus is not on earth today, but the the Holy Spirit is, and He can spur us on to victory.
