Our Pastor, Dr. Barry D. Lovett
Pastor Barry accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at the age of nine. He felt called into the ministry and was licensed to preach at the age of fifteen and ordained into the ministry at the age of nineteen. He has been a pastor for 48 years; 22 of which have been as the Pastor of First Baptist Church of Honolulu.
He is married to Jody. They will celebrate their 50th anniversary in July. Jody is retired from teaching music at Hawaii Baptist Academy where she also directed the Eagle Choir, and produced several spectacular Christmas, and seasonal musicals.
The Lovetts have three children, Brandon (Savana), Nathaniel (Sarah), and Brianna (Kolomona); and five grandchildren, Jordy, Jackson, Ella, Gemma and John.
Dr. Lovett is also part-time staff with The American Baptist Churches Los Angeles, Southwest and Hawaii (ABCOFLASH) as a Resource Minister.
