Augustine “Augie” Bau, CFP®, serves as MMBB representative for Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. He is also the MMBB liaison to the Asian-American community. Augie has served on the staff of MMBB since 1990.
The Reverend Augie Bau graduated with a master of divinity degree from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, and he was ordained in a Baptist church. He ministered as a youth pastor for The Salvation Army in San Francisco and as the first pastor of an Asian-American Baptist Church in Sacramento. He has served as moderator of two ABC churches and treasurer for the ABC of the West region. His preaching experiences include an open air sermon at the cable car turnaround in SF, a season ending message to 500 youth in the Castro Valley basketball league, a sermon at the historic Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland, and regular messages at the CityTeam recovery ministry in the Bay Area.
Augie received two business degrees from the University of California, Berkeley: a bachelor of science and a master of business administration. He has been an office supervisor for Pacific Bell and a loan interviewer for the California State Employees Credit Union. A lifelong learner, he became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional in 2001.
An avid sports fan, Augie plays full court basketball a couple times a week. He has coached his two children’s soccer and basketball teams. Augie works with about 120 high school youth at the Castro Valley High School, generally to raise consciousness about inequalities in the world and specifically to raise funds for a Naga school in northeast Indi
