Matthew 27:45-46.  “…My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”  This is the most shocking word from the cross.  Nothing hurts more than abandonment. Jesus, in the last twenty-four hours of His earthly life, is progressively abandoned by everybody. At this moment Jesus became your substitute. He took the penalty for your sins.  Jesus is atoning for all the sin of the world.
