“Beloved, I beg you …, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul.” I Peter 2:11. James warned us that sin puts our lives at risk. It comes disguised as pleasure but leaves us pain. Sin introduces us to the devastation of separation from God. It leads to eternal torment if we do not know Christ as Savior, and it produces serious damage now, even in the lives of believers. The most deadly sins do not leap upon us – they creep up on us.
