PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO DINNER OR BIBLE STUDY ON WEDNESDAY DURING THE MONTHS OF JUNE AND JULY. CHECK OUT THE PAU HANA PICNICS ON FRIDAYS AS AN ALTERNATIVE.
Dinner is served at 5:30. There is no charge, however donations toward the cost of the food are accepted. Join us for our Wednesday Night Bible Study @ 6:15. Currently Pastor Barry is facilitating a Bible Study on the Old Testament character, Gideon. When we hear the name Gideon, most of us think about his 300 soldiers or the fleece he laid out under the evening sky. But Gideon’s story is so much bigger than that. Like everything else in the Bible, this is a story about God and His people. His love for them, as well as His strength operating in spite of their weakness—even through their weakness. And because God’s people includes you and me, Gideon’s story is also about us—our lives, our doubts, our struggles, and our possibilities as believers. From a state of fear, weakness, and insecurity, Gideon emerged as Israel’s hero, filled with God’s presence and His passion for deliverance. This study featuring DVD presentations by Priscilla Shirer each week will encourage you to recognize your weakness as the key that the Lord gives you to unlock the full experience of His strength in your life. In what ways do you feel insufficient? Those places create the greatest opportunity to experience the sufficiency of God. Instead of ignoring, neglecting, or trying to escape your weaknesses, see them as the gifts that they are, given specifically and strategically by God to unlock the door of God’s strength.
The Bible “Crystal Clear” taught by Crystal Lancaster Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Currently this group is involved in an inductive study of 1 & 2 Peter. There is a vast difference between knowing about God and knowing God. Learn God’s Word in a way that is both informative and fun but most importantly in a way you will easily understand. When you get to know God’s Word better, you get to know God better!
Small Group (Adults)
Prepare yourself to experience Easter and Holy Week in a whole new way. Lee and Paula Axtell are leading their Sunday School class back to the time of Jesus in a study called, “Death and Resurrection of the Messiah.” This small group experience will illuminate the historical, geographical, and cultural context of the Bible. Filmed on location in the Middle East, this Focus on the Family DVD series, featuring Ray Vander Laan, will transform your understanding of God and challenge you to be a true follower of Jesus.
Being a follower of Jesus does not mean staying away from evil. It means confronting it – face to face – just like Jesus did every single day. Through His resurrection, learn how confronting evil can be loudly proclaiming the name of Jesus or quietly caring for someone in need. The class meets in the fellowship hall at 8:45 a.m. Coffee provided.Child care is available.
